AI Wellness Check Guide for Android (ePokratis MedAiConnect App)

Welcome! This guide will help you take AI-based measurements using your device’s front camera. You can measure:

  • Pulse Rate
  • Breathing Rate
  • Stress Level
  • Blood Pressure
  • Oxygen Saturation (SpO₂)

Let’s walk through how to prepare for the scan, what devices are supported, and what conditions help ensure the best results.

Important Notice

The AI-based pulse rate, breathing rate, and stress level measurements — including experimental wellness estimates for blood pressure and oxygen saturation — are intended exclusively for informational and wellness purposes. These measurements are not suitable for clinical use, medical diagnosis, or treatment, and should not be interpreted as medical advice.

Blood Pressure & Oxygen Saturation (SpO₂):

These values are AI-generated experimental estimates obtained via the device camera and are strictly for wellness and informational use only. They are not validated for clinical accuracy, not intended for diagnosis, monitoring, or treatment, and should not be relied upon for any medical decision.

This app is not a medical device and has not been evaluated or approved by any regulatory authority. Results may vary due to lighting conditions, device hardware, skin tone, motion, and other factors.

In case of medical emergency or health concerns, always contact a healthcare professional or emergency services immediately.

Privacy Assurance:

All data processing occurs locally on your device. No personal images, videos, or biometric data are stored or transmitted externally.

Position Guidance Clarification:

The app’s real-time posture and lighting prompts are designed solely to help optimize the measurement process. They are not intended to assess your health, diagnose any condition, or replace professional medical advice.

Minimum Age Requirement

The app is intended for users 18+. By using the app, you confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement applicable in your country/region.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Find the Right Spot

  • Choose an indoor location with even lighting directed at your face.
  • Avoid lighting from behind, above, or the sides.
  • Avoid direct sunlight or reflections from mirrors and windows.
  • Make sure no ceiling light shines directly on the screen.

2. Get Into Position

  • Sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor and your legs uncrossed.
  • Rest and relax for 2–5 minutes before starting, to help stabilize your vital signs.
  • Remain still, keep a neutral facial expression, and avoid speaking or making any sudden movements during preparation and throughout the scan.

3. Set Up Your Phone

  • Use the front camera (selfie mode) only — rear cameras are not supported.
  • Hold the phone upright, at eye level, and approximately 30 cm from your face.
  • Use a stand or rest your elbow on a surface to reduce shaking.
  • Ensure your entire face is visible — remove glasses, hats, masks, and keep your hair away from your forehead.

4. Start the Measurement

  • Tap “Start” and let the scan begin.
  • Your face should fill the inner frame and remain centered.
  • Stay still, look directly at the screen, and breathe naturally.

5. Follow On-Screen Guidance

  • If the app detects that you’ve moved out of optimal conditions, it will display real-time instructions to help you correct your position or environment.
  • Examples include:
    • “Please keep your head upright”
    • “Please move closer to the camera”
  • These prompts appear when best practices are not being followed, and they help guide you back into the correct posture or lighting for best results.

Measurement Duration

The total scan usually takes around 35 seconds. The amount of data needed depends on the type of vital sign being measured:

  • Pulse Rate:
An initial reading is available after about 11 seconds. The final value appears around 20 seconds.
  • Breathing Rate:
Breathing rate is detected around 23 seconds. The final value appears at approximately 35 seconds.
  • Stress Level:
The normalized stress index is calculated at 35 seconds.
  • Blood Pressure:
Estimated and displayed after a full scan of approximately 35 seconds.
  • Oxygen Saturation (SpO₂):
Measurement is completed and displayed after about 35 seconds.

If there are interruptions (e.g., user movement or poor lighting) or low signal quality, the scan may take longer or fail to complete.

Important Usage Conditions

  • Wait at least 3 minutes between scans to prevent device overheating.
  • Only the front camera can be used for AI measurements.
  • Camera access is required to initiate AI sessions.
  • Poor lighting or posture may extend the measurement duration or trigger guidance prompts.

Internet Access and AI Session Types

If you are using AI tokens:

  • You must have an internet connection every time you start a measurement.
  • Each session needs to verify its license with the server.

If you have a Basic or Advanced subscription:

  • Before you can initiate an AI measurement, your device must be registered and licensed for use - this process is automatic and requires an internet connection.
  • This registration is performed once per calendar month and must be repeated each month.
  • After successful registration, you can take unlimited AI measurements both online and offline for the remainder of the month.
  • If registration is unsuccessful, the app will automatically retry during your first measurement attempt, even while the scan is in progress.

Device Compatibility and System Requirements

To achieve reliable AI-based measurements, please ensure your device meets the following system requirements and recommendations:

Operating System Version

Android 8.1 or higher is required.

Processor Requirements

Your device processor must support the Application Binary Interface (ABI) arm64-v8a.

Camera Requirements

  • Front camera must support at least 30 frames per second (FPS).
  • Camera must support an image output size of 640x480 pixels (width: 640px, height: 480px).

Benchmark Performance Verification

  • Devices with a Geekbench 6 Single-Core benchmark score of 300 or higher are supported. However, optimal performance is achieved with scores above 500.
  • To verify your device’s benchmark score, visit Geekbench Android Benchmarks.

Recommended Devices

Recent Android smartphones (released within the last 2-3 years) from reputable brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Google Pixel, OnePlus, and Huawei typically perform well.

Devices Less Suitable

Older models or devices with lower processing capabilities (scores around or below 300) might experience difficulties during AI measurements.

Practical Performance Tips

  • Close unnecessary background apps before initiating AI measurements to free up CPU resources.
  • Ensure the device’s Battery Saver Mode is turned OFF.
  • If your device frequently overheats or slows down during regular activities, it may struggle with AI measurement tasks.
  • To prevent overheating, please wait at least 3 minutes between consecutive face measurements.

Optional Advanced Check

For precise performance checks, download the Geekbench 6 app from Google Play.

Best Practices Recap

To ensure the best possible results:

  • Sit comfortably with feet flat on the ground and legs uncrossed.
  • Keep your face fully visible and uncovered.
  • Use a phone stand or rest your elbow to reduce motion.
  • Ensure your environment is well-lit, with even lighting on your face and no strong backlight.
  • Don’t move, talk, or smile during the scan.
  • Relax and breathe naturally.
